Is it possible to sell airline tickets?

I hear that you can do this but how is this possible if the tickets are in your name?

Firstly it depends on what airline they are with. you will have to check with them that they will take on a change of name. A lot of airlines wont do this, and if they will change the name on the ticket they will charge.
If you are in the UK try selling it on http://www.gumtree.com or ebay

Check to see if they are transferrable. If they are, you can transfer them to someone elses name.

It depends if the airline lets you do a name change on them, if they do there might be a charge, but it is possible.

Many are non transferable, for security reasons.
Most of the time you can’t sell them, just cancel and try to get a refund from whoever sold them to you. Look at the terms and conditions of sale. There will be a section on cancellation.
I cancelled a return flight yesterday and got most of my money back (you won’t get it all).

    Why not…..

all you have to do is check with the airlines as to whether they will allow a name change or not….but please be ready to bear some extra cost as well…..

For the most part, commercial airline tickets are not transferrable and are assigned exclusively to the name of the person on the ticket.

There are some charter planes and some very small airlines that may allow that.

Not really. You can’t sellthem to another person. It was possible to do so a few decades ago before airlines were required to check the identity of the person boarding. Now, you have to prove you are the person named on the ticket. Effectively, this means that you cannot sell the ticket to another person.

airline tickets are sold to an individual an are not transferable unless you pay the airline a fee to transfer them
